Shelving may be a good way to display some items in your store, but your design should allow for display cases and display racks to show off certain ranges of goods to their full advantage. It maybe that before you finalize your store design, you decide to take a look at shelving and all other the options to display your goods, so that you can decide which display boxes, cases or racks you’d like to showcase your merchandize.
When you think of glass display cases, you automatically think jewelry displays, so let’s take a little look into the merits of a jewelry display. Display suppliers will have a whole host of jewelry display cases available to choose from, as they come in many designs, materials (it doesn’t have to be glass) and sizes. They are also good for keeping the jewelry safe from theft.
Apart the actual display case, you can have black velvet display stands, which accentuates the jewelry – like necklace displays, bracelet displays (which also make good watch displays) and ring displays too. It is always good to have a mirror available too, as if someone wants to try a piece of jewelry on, they will want to see what it looks like when they are wearing it. It is worth looking for wholesale jewelry displays, as if you need a lot of them, it would be cheaper to buy them wholesale.
You can also use glass display cases for showcasing porcelain and ceramic merchandise, watches, antiques, coins, sports memorabilia and spoons to name a few a things. In fact, these types of displays are good for showcasing items in a store, museum or at home. One great advantage about using glass display cases is that they protect their contents from dust.
You should also consider display shelves, to display your merchandize on. Often models and figurines can look better on an open shelf, as people can look at them from all angles without being hindered by glass or wood frames. This openness is also a disadvantage, as the goods would be exposed to dust and light fingers, so if there is anything valuable you want to display, this may not be the option for you (unless it is placed somewhere you can see it at all times).
Racks
Anything that is mobile, and easily transportable around the store is always a good investment, as changing the layout can give a store a whole fresh look. This is why you should consider racks.
Let’s look at garment racks, first of all, in particular rolling garment racks. Traditionally rolling garment racks have been used to store clothing on in the back rooms of stores, but now many people are seeing the advantage of putting out front in the shop. As they are mobile, by putting these garment racks on the shop floor you give the impression that the garments hung up on these racks won’t be around for long, creating a reason to buy now. It also makes it easier for you to organize new arrivals, sales items and generally create a nice ambiance for your store.
When people think of a coat rack, they often think of the wooden coat stand that looks like a tree, which some people have standing in their corridors to put their coats, hats and umbrellas in. Nowadays the modern coat rack is more versatile and often doubles up as a hat rack too. It doesn’t have to be wooden, it can be metal, plastic or another material, or it could be a tall rolling garment rack as well.
If you are running some kind of boutique, it is likely that you will need to consider hat racks and shoe racks as well. For the shoes you will need to decide whether you want a shoe rack, a slatwall show display, a gridwall shoe display, or freestanding shoe display. For the hats, you have to make the same decision, whether you want shelves, racks, displays, or mannequin heads to show of the hats. If you are running a men’s boutique, don’t forget the tie rack.
Other racks that you might find useful for your needs include magazine racks and equipment racks. The magazine rack could be use as to showcase magazines, pamphlets, brochures, or leaflets and be freestanding or countertop. The equipment rack could be a sports equipment rack where you put footballs and tennis rackets.
When designing a store, your imagination is your only limitation. When you look at all the options of shelving, displays, racks, tables, showcases and mannequins, a picture of the perfect store layout should start to form in your mind.
