Gondola Checkout Counters

Gondola checkout counters utilize the versatility of the gondola system, featuring a double-sided storage and display unit with a full size countertop. Gondola checkout counters generate maximum merchandising area at your store's checkout, and perform most efficiently in convenience stores, grocery and food stores, pharmacies, and all other retail stores.

Gondola counters can be effectively incorporated into any checkout area to assist store checkout operations in the most resourceful way. With gondola shelving checkout counters, you benefit from maximum display space on the customer side and maximum storage space on the clerk side.

Customer Side

Often referred to as gondola candy counters, the exterior customer side of these gondola counters are a popular focus for increasing impulse buys. This side can be outfitted with peg hooks, baskets or downslant shelves for displaying small products like candies, chocolates, snack bags, batteries and tissue packs for last-minute grabbing during checkout. Shelves can be further accessorized with a host of other gondola accessories like shelf retainers, metal front fences and dividers.

Employee Side

The interior worker section generally has straight shelves for employees to store checkout and other store paraphernalia, such as computers, tagging and label guns, shopping bags, file boxes, packaging accessories and security equipment.

Product Specifications

• Units are available in many heights from 38” to 44”, in 6” increments. Standard depth is 24”. Also available in a variety of other sizes.
• Countertop and side panels are made from high pressure laminate with durable edge banding. Counters are custom colored to match your store decor, available in all laminate color swatches from Wilsonart, Nevamar and Formica.
• Gondola units include all necessary components, including uprights with trim covers, base shoes with end covers, kick plates, pegboard backs with spanners and base shelves. Our salespeople can assist you with accessorizing your unit with shelves and other accessories to adapt to your store needs.
• All gondola parts are Madix heavy duty metal components. We stock Madix gondola parts in Antique White color. Ask us about special order colors.
• Gondola backs used in these counters are most commonly ¼” thick pegboard. Solid panels may be substituted for pegboard, and slatwall backs are obtainable at an additional cost.
