Louis Vuitton Wins Store of the Year

The resutls are out.

Last night, the Association for Retail Environments (A.R.E.) recognized the best in retail design, store fixtures and visual presentation at its annual Design Awards celebration.

This year’s Store of the Year was awarded to the Louis Vuitton Island Maison store in Singapore. Designed by New York-based Peter Marino Architect, the entire space reflects a nautical theme consistent with its location and with the brand’s historical association with travel.

To manage the daylight passing through the glass walls, 315 framed sunshade “sails” feature a UV-resistant translucent textile covering, diffusing light but not hindering the views of the bay. Light fixtures suspended from the ceiling evoke ship masts, and an outdoor loggia is reminiscent of an ocean liner’s deck. A bookstore element presents a curated selection of books on travel, design, art and culture.

Here at M. Fried we are always ready to help our customers update their stores with new store displays. Let us know if you have any upcoming projects.
