Gondola Style
Select the style of gondola shelving you need.
Double Sided Units run along the aisle.
Wall Units run along the wall.
End Cap Units are placed
at the front and/or back ends of Double Sided Units.
Run Length
Select the length of each section. A gondola section can run from 2 feet long to an unlimited length.
Think in terms of joining many 3 or 4 foot lengths together. For example, three 4-foot gondola units will give you a 12-foot run.
You just need to select the total length of the run, and we will do the calculations for you.
Helpful Tip:
Creating very long runs will make your customers walk down a very long aisle before they can move to another aisle.
Consider creating a few shorter runs along the aisle instead.
Gondola Height
The height of a gondola unit can range from as low as 36" to as high as 120", with units available in every 6" increment.
Helpful Tips:
If you would like to maintain visibility over the double sided units, you should not exceed a height of 60".
For Wall Units, popular heights are 84" and 96".
End Caps are most commonly the same height as the double sided units.
Base Depth
The base shelf is a fixed shelf at the bottom of every gondola unit that is available from 10" to 30" deep.
It can be as shallow as 10" or 12" for a drug store, or as deep as 22" for a liquor store.
Helpful Tips:
For double sided units, enter the base shelf measurement only for 1 side.
Remember that although extra deep shelves add storage space, it will also take away from your aisle space.
Upper shelves are most commonly one size smaller than the base shelf.
Shelf Tiers
One critical element will be your shelf configuration. All of our shelves can be affixed straight out, or in two different slanting / down slope positions.
We also have a selection of gondola fences, dividers and other organizers for gondola shelves.
Helpful Tip:
Consider the height of your merchandise when deciding how many rows of shelves you wish to create. Each shelf can hold hundreds of pounds.
Shelf Depth
Please enter the depth of the upper shelves you wish to purchase. Gondola shelves are available from 8" to 30" deep, in 2" increments.
Helpful Tip:
Generally upper shelves are 1 size (2" smaller) than the base shelf.
Gondola Backing
Select a backing for your gondola unit.
Choose solid boards or peg boards at the same cost, or slatwall backing at an additional cost.
Helpful Tips:
Solid backing has a clean look and is a most popular choice for supermarkets and liquor stores.
Pegboard and slatwall backings allow for more display options for particular merchandise, should you choose to use hooks or displayers rather than gondola shelves.
